Balou

Balou is a 16.2hh, 2015 Irish Sport Horse X Dutch Warmblood/Hanoverian gelding. He is sired by Bon Balou (Balou du Rouet) of Dreamscape Farms (Langely, BC). The Damsire is Loughehoe Guy. Balou is our family’s first home-bred, and was started on the family ranch, riding in wide open fields and going on trips to the mountains. He has been ridden by a confident young-adult amateur, and is now being leased by a junior.

Balou has competed successfully up to the 1.35m level in jumpers, hunters and equitations. He has plenty of scope, a big jump and a kind manner. He has competed at Spruce Meadows, Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, and other venues in Alberta. Balou has competed at Thunderbird Show Park (BC). Balou made his debut at the Desert International Horse Park (Indio, CA) in 2024.
